জাতীয় প্রেসক্লাবের সামনের সড়কে ব্যাটারিচালিত রিকশাচালকদের গণ–অবস্থান
রাজধানীর জাতীয় প্রেসক্লাবের সামনের সড়কে আজ রোববার ‘গণ–অবস্থান’ কর্মসূচি পালন করছেন ব্যাটারিচালিত রিকশাচালকেরা। এতে সংশ্লিষ্ট সড়কগুলোতে তীব্র যানজট দেখা দিয়েছে।
প্রত্যক্ষদর্শীরা বলেন, আজ সকাল ১০টা থেকে আন্দোলনকারীরা সড়কে অবস্থান নেন। একটি ট্রাকে মঞ্চ বানিয়ে তাঁরা ‘গণ–অবস্থান’ কর্মসূচি পালন করছেন। দুপুর ১২টা ১৫ মিনিট নাগাদ এই প্রতিবেদন লেখা পর্যন্ত কর্মসূচি চলছিল।
কর্মসূচির কারণে প্রেসক্লাবের সামনের সড়কের দুই পাশ দিয়েই যানবাহন চলাচল বন্ধ রয়েছে। এ ছাড়া আশপাশের সড়কগুলোয় তৈরি হয়েছে তীব্র যানজট।
আন্দোলনকারীদের দাবি, ব্যাটারিচালিত রিকশা বন্ধে হাইকোর্টের আদেশ প্রত্যাহার করতে হবে। বিআরটিএ কর্তৃক লাইসেন্স ও যৌক্তিক রুট পারমিট দিতে হবে।
রিকশা-ভ্যান-ইজিবাইক শ্রমিক ইউনিয়নের ব্যানারে এই কর্মসূচি পালিত হচ্ছে। কর্মসূচিতে অংশ নেওয়া বাংলাদেশের কমিউনিস্ট পার্টির (সিপিবি) নেতা আবদুল্লাহ আল ক্বাফী বলেন, ন্যায্য দাবি আদায়ে আজ গণ–অবস্থান কর্মসূচি পালন করা হচ্ছে। আদেশ প্রত্যাহার না হওয়া পর্যন্ত আন্দোলন চলবে।
গত মঙ্গলবার ঢাকা মহানগর এলাকার সড়কে ব্যাটারিচালিত অটোরিকশার চলাচল তিন দিনের মধ্যে বন্ধ বা বিধিনিষেধ আরোপ করতে নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন হাইকোর্ট। এর পর থেকে আন্দোলনে নামেন বিক্ষুব্ধ রিকশাচালকেরা। গত বৃহস্পতিবার রাজধানীর বিভিন্ন এলাকায় সড়ক ও মহাখালীতে সড়ক-রেলপথ অবরোধ করেন রিকশাচালকেরা।
